The Results Show

Intro – The group dance is to Bette Midler’s The Rose, which is a gorgeous song. I think the choreography was good but the dancing could have been tighter. Parts of it that were supposed to be in sync weren’t quite (parts of it were staggered intentionally,) and it hurt the overall picture. Cat likes the wind machine that is blowing onto the stage.

Adam Shankman announces that they are adding to the prize the winner gets: a featured dance role in a movie he is producing.

Nigel warns everyone that they need to prepare for rejection, and says that they “cannot let that rejection consume them” and says they each got over a million votes, and hopes that will make them feel good about themselves as dancers. Adam tells them to be kind to their fans.

Courtney Solo – It’s a female contemporary solo. Flailing and such. I never “get” these.

Mark Solo he does a really creative ruitine using his suspenders as a prop. I think it’s quite engaging and unique. I think it would be interesting to see what he came up with as a choreographer (career-wise).

Katee Solo – rolling on the ground, spinning, flailing, folding in half. Another generic female contemporary solo.

Joshua Solo – he has some really great isolations as a hip hop dancer. He does a very impressive splits. (He’s still my favorite.) He got his braces off, so this is the first chance we have gotten to see his teeth! He looks adorable :)

Chelsie Solo – she dances to a sort of country thing wearing a sort of saloon girl outfit. It’s entertaining and has character. Easily the best solo by the girls tonight.

Twitch Solo – he dances to “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” but it never really goes anywhere, in my opinion.

Time Killing Dance

Lil Demon, an 8 year old hip hop dancer comes out and is very cute.
We are also subjected to more of the horrid “Snuggle Fabric Softener Happy Dance” entries. Cat says that the tour will be the top 11 instead of the top 10 (because of the thing with Comfort getting back into the competition when Jessica was injured.)

There is a long bit of recapping last night’s show with each girl. They tell Katee she is safe and go to commercial.

There is a long bit of recapping for the guys, and then Joshua is told he’s safe.

Time Killing Song

Lady Gaga singing “Just Dance”… it’s bizarre but not in a particularly original way. It seems contrived to me. She is wearing Devo clothes and has a microphone with a blue light in it that makes her look sort of undead. The song rather blows, in my opinion.

They come back and announce the results:
Chelsie is going home. She is emotional, as expected, but gracious.
Mark is going home. He handles it well, congratulating Twitch with genuine enthusiasm.
